The Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect Act of 1977 mandates that child care providers, among others must report actual or suspected cases of child maltreatment.
Through funding from the District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education, Division of Early Childhood Education (OSSE/ECE), the Consortium for Child Welfare is providing the Issues in Child Maltreatment training for early care, early intervention and education providers.
This training series is designed to enhance the participants’ knowledge including but not limited to the following areas; 1) Identifying signs of child maltreatment; 2) understanding the policies and procedures for responding tosuspected child maltreatment; 3) reporting incidents or suspected incidents of child maltreatment to Child Protective Services.
The contents discussed are not appropriate for children; therefore no children will be permitted.
