MISSION STATEMENT

The Consortium for Child Welfare (CCW) is a coalition of human service agencies established in 1980 to improve child welfare services. Our mission is to advocate for vulnerable children, youth and families in the District of Columbia by uniting private human service providers to ensure a responsive and accountable system of care. This results in safety, family permanence, well-being and positive youth development. CCW and its members fulfill the mission by protecting children and supporting families through communication and collaboration; promoting innovation; developing resources; and advocating for the highest practice standards.

ADVOCACY!

lets spread the word

CCW understands what is necessary to effectively influence the various aspects of the human services network including public entities, private providers and funding sources that make up the child welfare system. Advocacy and education are essential tools in order to ensure the vital needs of vulnerable children and families are met and not overlooked.
